Architectural designer's personal cottage on a gorgeous Kennisis Lake Point Lot. Maximizing views, entertaining, efficiency, personal comfort, lowest maintenance, and longest lifespan were the achieved goals on this BC fir Timber frame 4, 438 square foot masterpiece that took 3 years to create. The extensively landscaped point lot allows the most complete surround of waterfront you can get in a road-access shoreline and fronts on both the big lake and a sheltered, calm bay on Haliburton Highland's beautiful and sought after Kennisis Lake. Every detail was meticulously planned by the architectural designer/owner to ensure maximum enjoyment and minimal inconvenience, and no expense was spared during construction. Triple pane windows and EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finish Systems) encapsulate the structure with an energy-efficient thermal blanket that reduces air infiltration and thermal bridging, thereby stabilizing the structures interior environment. In-floor radiant heat, air exchangers, and humidification ensure personal comfort. There are two, zero-clearance fireplaces that can be used for added warmth and ambiance. To streamline your continued comfort, a Lutron whole-house control system has been installed which allows automated pre-sets for switching and dimming lighting. Control of fans, shades, music, and surveillance cameras is also automated and available at a touchpad located in three areas of the house. Low voltage lighting is used throughout the building. All of the furniture was custom-designed for each space. The custom cut and polished limestone floors and bathroom tiles were handpicked from Owen Sound. Limited growth grass, extensive limestone placement, and exterior finishings were all chosen to minimize maintenance required so time spent at the lakehouse isn't wasted on yard work and building maintenance. The roof is made of top-grade zinc and will last 100 years, as are the eaves.
